2022 SCP Annual Conference, February 3 - 6, 2022
Creating Healthy Tomorrows

HEALTH & SAFETY

SCP Conference Info

We look forward to welcoming SCP 2022 Annual Conference attendees to the Westdrift hotel in Manhattan Beach, CA, “where the endless California summer starts.” We are offering two meeting experiences (in-person and virtual) to ensure all attendees can choose a format which aligns with their health and safety needs and have the ability to pivot with fluctuations in the pandemic situation.

Health & Safety

Our conference theme is Creating Healthy Tomorrows and creating healthy todays is an important step. With the fluctuating circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, we do not know exactly what the coming months may bring. We will continue to keep health and safety considerations top of mind, monitoring and adjusting plans according to CDC recommendations, public health orders, government regulations, and so on.

The in-person portion of the meeting will feature enhanced health and safety measures that may be modified as we move forward, taking into consideration guidance from the CDC, the WHO, and state and local authorities.

Our current health and safety protocols for in-person attendees include:

Vaccination Required

SCP has implemented a Vaccination Required approach for all attendees, exhibitors, and SCP staff. Meeting attendees are considered fully vaccinated following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines:

  • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines (mixing of vaccines types is not currently accepted by the CDC), or
  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine

Proof of vaccination will be required to register for the conference.

Mask Required Indoors*

There is a mask mandate in place in Los Angeles County. Everyone, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask in all indoor public settings, venues, gatherings, and public and private businesses in Los Angeles, except while briefly eating or drinking in a stationary position.

Additional Measures*

Additional examples of new protocol, should they be necessary at the time of this event, include:

  • Providing hand sanitizer and masks onsite;
  • Daily health evaluations;
  • Plexiglass barriers around high-traffic areas;
  • Social distancing in meeting rooms;
  • Proof of vaccine requirements;
  • Adjusted food service methods.

*The mask and additional requirements will be verified one month prior to the conference and updates will be provided as necessary. The vaccination requirement will remain in place. We are committed to the safety of our members and being good stewards of public health.
