We are looking for a Principal to join our amazing team. Principals play a significant leadership role from their first day at ghSMART. They are self-starters who quickly learn our innovative approach to assessing and developing executive talent, begin to own and grow client relationships, and contribute to the firm’s strategic decisions. Given the remote and flexible nature of our firm, you can be based anywhere and will occasionally travel for client meetings or firm retreats.

Principals enjoy an unparalleled environment of growth and development, where you can be yourself and become the best version of you professionally. We hire individuals of the highest caliber, character, and courage and invest in the growth of our colleagues and of our firm. We provide a premium service, and our team members are compensated accordingly.

In the first year, Principals will be paired with a formal mentor and be trained in the art and science the SmartAssessment, which is our core IP. SmartAssessments are the foundation of what we do, and once a Principal has mastered the method, they can begin to expand into our other areas of work, such as talent and organizational strategy work, CEO succession, leadership coaching and development, or board and team effectiveness.

The principal position is primarily a delivery role. At ghSMART there is no centralized staffing model, so Principals have the freedom to choose what they work on, where they work, how they work, and who they work with. Also, given the flat nature of the firm, Principals largely operate as individual contributors by leading the assessment, interpreting the data, and then presenting their recommendations to the client’s Board or C-suite.
