Presidential terms were originally August to August with the transition occurring at APA. Mid-winter conference was in the middle of the presidential term. Presidential transition moved to February at mid-winter conference with David Brewer serving as president from August 2010 to February 2012. SCP mid-winter conferences began in 1993.
