In this episode of the SCP Podcast, 2024 SCP Conference Co-Chair Jacob Engelskirger, PsyD, interviews Christina Douyon, PhD and Amanda Weber, PhD about their pre-conference workshop entitled “Inclusivity Begins with the Self: Using Groups to Identify and Explore White Supremacy in Leadership,” a session about the structures bolstering inequitable workplaces and strategies that can be used to dismantle them. Drs. Douyon and Weber explain what White Supremacy is and why it needs to be openly identified and discussed, in addition to how it manifests in leadership dynamics in the workplace. They describe the format of their workshop, which include participating in a cross-racial demo group focused on participants’ own racial identity development.
