Bernardo M. Ferdman, Ph.D., is Principal & Founder of Ferdman Consulting (https://ferdmanconsulting.com) and Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Alliant International University. He partners with leaders, teams, and organizations to translate inclusion from values into everyday leadership behavior, decision-making, and culture.
A leadership and organization development consultant and Board Certified Executive Coach, Bernardo brings more than 40 years of global experience helping organizations foster inclusion, effectively leverage diverse talent, and build multicultural and cross-cultural capability at individual, team, and system levels. His work integrates research, practice, and lived experience, with a focus on enabling people to find their voice, contribute fully, and lead and work across difference.
Bernardo is the creator of Inclusion@Work®, a digital coaching and learning platform, and the Workplace Inclusion Inventory™, a research-based assessment of inclusion experiences and inclusive behavior in organizations. He is co-editor of Inclusive Leadership: Transforming Diverse Lives, Workplaces, and Societies (Routledge, 2021) and Diversity at Work: The Practice of Inclusion (Wiley, 2014), and has published and presented extensively on inclusion, leadership, cultural identity, intergroup relations, and organizational dynamics.
Bernardo is a Fellow of SCP, the American Psychological Association and four additional APA divisions, including the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He is an expert panelist for the Global Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Benchmarks and has served as president of the Diversity Collegium and the Interamerican Society of Psychology; chair of the Academy of Management’s Gender and Diversity in Organizations Division and Diversity & Inclusion Theme Committee; and in various other leadership roles, including as Chair of SCP's Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Bernardo was the H. Smith Richardson Jr. Visiting Fellow at the Center for Creative Leadership in 2020, and was the founding faculty director of the Inclusive Leadership Program at UCLA Anderson Executive Education.
In 2019, Bernardo received the Society of Consulting Psychology’s Award for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Consulting. An immigrant from Argentina, Bernardo earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from Yale University and his A.B. from Princeton University.
