Bernardo M. Ferdman, Ph.D., is Principal & Founder of Ferdman Consulting and Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Alliant University. An internationally recognized inclusion strategist, executive coach, leadership and organization development consultant, and organizational psychologist, he helps leaders, teams, and organizations navigate complexity, work effectively across differences, and translate values into everyday leadership practices, relationships, systems, and cultures that foster inclusion, effectiveness, innovation, and meaningful contribution. A Board Certified Coach with more than 40 years of global experience, Bernardo partners with leaders and organizations across sectors to strengthen inclusive leadership, foster authentic dialogue and collaboration, engage differences, tensions, and conflict constructively, and build environments where people can contribute fully and do their best work. His work integrates executive coaching, leadership and organization development, facilitation, strategic consulting, assessment, learning programs, and systems change efforts. He is particularly interested in helping leaders and systems navigate the tensions and paradoxes that arise in diverse and rapidly changing environments. Bernardo is the creator of Inclusion@Work® (https://inclusionatwork.com), a digital coaching and learning platform, and the Workplace Inclusion Inventory™, a research-based assessment of inclusion experiences and inclusive behavior in organizations. He is also a Founding Partner of Community Dialogue Partners (https://communitydialoguepartners.com), which supports constructive dialogue and collaborative engagement across differences in communities and organizations. Bernardo co-edited Inclusive Leadership: Transforming Diverse Lives, Workplaces, and Societies (Routledge, 2021) and Diversity at Work: The Practice of Inclusion (Wiley, 2014), and has published and presented extensively on inclusion, leadership, cultural identity, organizational dynamics, and working across differences. He is President-Elect of the Society of Consulting Psychology, a Fellow of SCP, APA, and four additional APA divisions, including SIOP, and recipient of SCP’s Award for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Consulting. Bernardo's additional leadership roles have included President of the Interamerican Society of Psychology and the Diversity Collegium; Chair of the Academy of Management’s Gender and Diversity in Organizations Division and Diversity & Inclusion Theme Committee; Chair of SCP’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee; and H. Smith Richardson Jr. Visiting Fellow at the Center for Creative Leadership. Bernardo earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from Yale University and his A.B. from Princeton University.
