Our volunteers play an important role in creating a welcoming, organized, and engaging experience for everyone who attends. Whether you’re a student, early-career professional, longtime SCP member, or simply looking for a way to get more involved, volunteering is a great way to experience the conference from a whole new perspective.

In exchange for volunteering the equivalent of one full conference day, you’ll receive complimentary registration to the SCP Annual Conference.
Your volunteer hours can be completed:

📋 What Might I Do?
Volunteer assignments may include welcoming and directing attendees, assisting with registration, supporting educational sessions, helping speakers and presenters, checking rooms, assisting with special events, and providing general conference support. No conference experience is necessary! We’ll provide the information and instructions you need to be successful in your role.

🎟️ How Complimentary Conference Registration Works
Volunteers who are accepted into the program and commit to volunteering the equivalent of one full conference day will receive complimentary registration to the SCP Annual Conference.

If you are applying to volunteer specifically to receive complimentary conference registration, please wait to register for the conference until you have been notified that you have been accepted as a volunteer.
Here’s how the process works:
- Submit Your Volunteer Application
Complete and submit this volunteer registration form. - Wait for Your Volunteer Confirmation
The SCP Conference Team will review applications based on conference needs, availability, and volunteer scheduling requirements. Submitting an application does notguarantee a volunteer position or complimentary registration. - Receive Your Assignment
If selected, you will receive confirmation of your volunteer position along with information about your schedule and assignment. - Register for the Conference
Accepted volunteers will receive instructions for completing their complimentary conference registration. Please follow these instructions rather than registering through the standard paid registration process. - Complete Your Volunteer Commitment
Complimentary registration is provided in exchange for completing the equivalent of one full conference day of volunteer service, which may be completed on one day or split between two conference days.
Important Registration Notes
- Complimentary registration applies to conference registration only.
- Optional activities, special events, meals, tours, or other ticketed experiences are not included unless specifically stated.
- Volunteer opportunities are limited and are not guaranteed by submitting an application.
- Volunteers are expected to complete their assigned shifts in order to receive the complimentary registration benefit.
- If you have already paid to register for the conference before being accepted as a volunteer, please contact the SCP Conference Team before assuming a refund will be available.
