Description

Generative AI coaching and development tools are on the scene and organizations are wrestling with how to best vet these tools. We will summarize the current product landscape and recent International Coaching Federation (ICF) AI Coaching Standards that help system providers and developers know how to produce a high-quality system with safeguards, as well as providing important information to purchasers and uses of these systems. We will facilitate a small group activity and discussion to apply these principles to participants’ current work situations, and close with an open question and answer forum.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Describe at least three ways that compassionate leaders outperform their less compassionate counterparts.

  • List and describe nine behavioral shifts for conveying greater compassion.

  • List three potential roadblocks for leaders working to develop compassion.

Michelle Caryn Paul, Ph.D.
Behavioral scientist, organizational psychologist and change agent Dr. Michelle Caryn Paul brings 25 years of experience helping high-growth technology firms, government agencies, and non-profit organizations maximize organizational effectiveness. Dr. Paul’s strategic advisory services increase adoption of changes, technologies, and new ways of working; foster resilient stakeholder ecosystems; enhance equitable and data-driven impacts; accelerate innovation; and improve team and organizational results. Dr. Paul collaborates with her clients to design, implement and evaluate a wide variety of initiatives to improve individual, team, and organizational performance. Dr. Paul has a MA and PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Maryland College Park and a BA (summa cum laude) in Psychology and Sociology from Emory University.
 
 

Joel DiGirolamo
Joel DiGirolamo is the Vice President of Research and Data Science for the International Coaching Federation (ICF), where he leads the organization’s efforts to study the science and profession of coaching. Joel has published numerous articles, book chapters, and white papers on coaching research. He has more than 30 years of staff and management experience and is the author of two books, Leading Team Alpha and Yoga in No Time at All. Joel holds a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology, an MBA, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He is an Associate Editor for Consulting Psychology Journal.
 
 
 
Michael “Woody” Woodward, PhD, PCC
Michael “Woody” Woodward, PhD, PCC is an organizational psychologist, professor, executive coach, board director, angel investor and advisor to tech start-ups in the human development space. He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM as a management and HR consultant. He later developed myself as an executive coach working with executives and entrepreneurs in both private and public organizations. Eventually he made his way to academia where he developed and launched a Master of Science degree program in Executive Coaching & Organizational Consulting at NYU where he now develops and trains the future leaders in the Executive Coaching space. Along the way he wrote the amazon.com top selling career book The You Plan and co-authored The Digital Coaching Revolution. As a practitioner he works with clients on communication, team challenges and building management/leadership capacity through one-on-one coaching, team coaching, custom training/coaching programs and corporate retreats. Some of the companies he has worked with include Bacardi USA, SAP, The Miami Herald, IBM. He also founded Human Capital Integrated (HCI) in 2005 to focus on his passion for selecting and developing authentic, mindful and positive leaders. His programs, seminars, roundtables, and keynote talks focus on Building Team Trust and Authenticity, Dealing w/ Personalities at Work, Management Style & De-railers, and Having Critical & Uncomfortable Conversations.
