We invite you to attend a monthly one-hour Town Hall via zoom hosted by President Joanie Connell. This is an opportunity to come together as a professional community, to share your experience and discover that of other SCP members. Each month we will start with a topic of interest featuring some aspect of our society. We will then open it up to wider discussion of any topics those online wish to bring up.

Session Description: 

In this session, three of our members will discuss how the practice of pausing informs the work they do as consultants and executive coaches. They will discuss how they have helped clients incorporate intentional periods of rest ranging from micro-pauses to planned sabbaticals, and the resultant impact on decision- making, personal and professional performance, and board effectiveness.

Dr. Yon Na
Dr. Yon Na is an organizational psychologist and co-founder of Radiance Leadership, where she helps leaders and teams create inclusive, high-performing work environments. Early in her career, Yon worked in advertising sales in New York City, but after the life-changing events of September 11, she chose to pursue a path centered on purpose and making a difference in people’s lives.

For the past 20 years, she has helped organizations strengthen culture and enhance leadership effectiveness. Drawing on her education in organizational psychology and her experience leading at companies including Warner Bros., Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, The New York Times, and Nordstrom, she approaches complex organizational challenges in a methodical, research-based, and deeply empathetic way.

When she’s not working with clients on complex organizational issues, you can find Yon taking photography and writing workshops, swing dancing, or traveling around the U.S. in an Airstream trailer with her family.

 
Dr. Moira Somers
Dr. Moira Somers is a psychologist, consultant and family enterprise advisor. She specializes in the psychology of money and in the many ways it influences decision-making, relationships, ethics and well-being. Her clients include family businesses, financial firms, regulatory bodies and community agencies. She is the author of The Fault Lines of Finance and Advice that Sticks.

In her consulting practice, Dr. Somers trains advisors on matters pertaining to the personal side of money. Her teaching and research interests include behavioural ethics as well as broader design and structural issues affecting investing, financial follow-through and equitable access to capital. Although Canada is her home, her client base is international. She is the Chair of the Family-Advisory Relationships Domain for the Ultra High Net Worth Institute, and a faculty member at the Financial Transitionist® Institute.

 
 
Ann Bowers – Evangelista, Psy.D., MBA 
Ann ignites purpose and clarity in executives and teams to build long-term success. For nearly three decades, she has leveraged her experience as a psychologist, business and leadership expert, and endurance athlete to maximize human potential and business results. Organizations seek Ann’s hiring proficiency to select and develop high-caliber talent and build great teams. As a coach, Ann’s reflective abilities and goal orientation help clients focus on change that sticks. She is an expert on building sustainable, high-performing individuals and teams, change transformation, resilience, talent selection, development and engagement, conflict and negotiation, feedback, and developing future talent. Her book, The Endurance Leader, was released in 2024.

Before starting Llumos, Ann worked as a Principal Consultant at Green Peak Partners and earlier as a Managing Director and Senior Consultant at TalentQuest in Atlanta. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with High Distinction from the University of Michigan and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and an MBA from Widener University. 

Ann is a Licensed Psychologist and a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and several Divisions. She is a former Managing Director of the Alliance for Leadership Excellence (Alexcel), former Treasurer of the Society of Consulting Psychology, and a member of APA’s Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology. Ann is a certified Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder-Centered Coach and has completed J&J’s Corporate Athlete Program and CTI’s Co- Active Coach program. She is certified in multiple assessment tools for individuals and teams. An Ironman triathlete and marathon runner, Ann brings her high- performance focus and results orientation to her work, family, and community. She is the proud spouse of a US Air Force officer and volunteers with nonprofits that support DC’s underserved and marginalized communities.
